It’s a special time of year! My very favorite time! Winter brings Thanksgiving (we love decorating the table and cooking!), my girls and niece’s birthdays and Christmas!
One of my favorite gifts have always been books. The characters within books have been my friends, my confidants and they have brought joy, comfort and inspiration.
One of my favorite memories was the summer day I toted my full collection of The Baby-Sitter’s Club books door to door until I found a mother with a young daughter who loved to read. She invited me inside and I spent an hour telling this young girl about my best friend, the characters in these books. The mother bought all of them for $55, which helped me go to a music festival. More importantly, though, was the look of awe and excitement on the young girl’s face. Books are priceless.
