Seriously broken

This book has me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I just wish I could have done something to help taya. I just felt I needed to protect her because I wanted to be her friend because she needed one my heart breaks because of how she was treated especially at school. Ugh

Gripping, Powerful

This book was very well written. I was glad for the ending to know it wasn’t true, didn’t happen, but was very eye opening. It made me want to know how to help all who feel helpless.

REQUIRED… MUST-READ FOR ALL PARENTS AND TEENS

I haven’t read a book that hit me emotionally as hard as BROKEN in a long time. From page one till the very end it holds on to your heart and just never lets go. In fact i delayed finishing the book for days just to keep the main character Taya with me, as if i could do something about protecting her if i did…

It’s more than a book about bullying, it’s more than a book about sexual abuse, it’s more a memoir of a 15 year old girls heart. Taya is sensitive and intelligent, she deals with crap at home, crap at school and she internalizes it all…god i just wanted to give this character a hug.

You know how schools have required summer reading?? THIS should be one of those books before entering high school, followed by a report written on how it impacted the student.

As for the cover art? Love it, even tho the real meaning behind it doesn’t become truly apparent till the end. Very meaningful. Don’t eliminate it Tiffini.

When i did finally allow myself to finish BROKEN, my heart was broken. We all go thru life ‘broken’ in some way….it doesn’t mean we are dispensible tho.

Wow

A very powerful book which effectively highlights the issues of teen suicide, self-harm, sexual abuse and bullying. A very sad book, and yet i couldn’t put it down. Tiffini Johnson has written this book perfectly. I could relate to the character Taya, and almost feel her pain. Very touching, well written and sure to make you cry.

BROKEN

No one should have to go through what this character did. That is enough to cause someone to commit suicide! This may be the cause of suicide in the real world.

Great subjects

I used to be a self harmer so the subject is one close to me. This book was overall a good read.

Pros:

Subject handled well

Taya is a great character

Highlights abuse bullying harming and suicide

Cons:

There are words missed out in places or the wrong word

It could of had more depth to the subjects more description etc

Overall good book but can’t give 5 stars
