Remember the Nightingale

Wow! This was one of my favorite reads for my book club. I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed how the author wrote and told an emotional and thoughtful story that doesn’t bore or drag at all. Gripping book about war, love and rebuilding

This is a cool book about love, war and unlikely friendships. It does a wonderful job of world building and telling a emotional and thoughtful story that doesn’t bore or drag at all. The author’s writing style is gripping but what really came across is how well thought out the characters were. I would read more from this author.

Love in Impossible Times

A novel that connects the innocence of first love with the brutality of the genocide in Rwanda. The author gives us a heartbreaking yet humane story, where two souls—Gaeton and Evariste—try to cling to dreams and hope in a world crumbling around them. Through Evariste’s perspective and Gaeton’s resilience, I was transported to a harsh reality, narrated with a lyrical voice that doesn’t soften the pain, but rather dignifies love, resilience, and the possibility of forgiving even the unforgivable. It’s impossible not to be moved by the tenderness of those early years and the darkness of the days that marked an entire nation.

Nightingale

This is a well written story. There’s love, violence, drama, culture, history, etc. So much added in this book. It’s worth the read.
