The Character: A Reading
The Character is a first person narration of a ten-year-old little girl named Anna who is currently going through sexual abuse. It is often hard to read. It will make you angry and sad. Ultimately, though, it is a story about creativity, inspiration and finding hope in the midst of tragedy.
“Perhaps I’m being presumptuous, but yours is a classic and striking example of art as redemption. Certainly I do not know if you or somebody close to you experienced the physical and psychological torment featured in your fine novel, but if you/they did, this book is a reverberating “I survived and shined!” The book itself, so far, has rocked me to the core.” — G, a Storytimer Reviewer.
