Among the Hushwood Leaves

In the fictional town of Zagluszek, Poland the Hushwood lives. The Hushwood is part of the forest situated just behind the village chapel. It is where girls go when they are silenced. It is part of the new book, Whisperroot: A Hushwood Tale. While it won’t be out for awhile yet, 2026, following along with the story might be fun.
Writers are notorious for having “wild” and “crazy” processes. Once upon a time, when I was in middle and high school, I used extremely detailed outlines that I struggle even to read today (see proof below). After 2009, I moved away from outlines in lieu of just waiting on individual scenes from characters but, a couple years ago, I revisited a simplified version of an outline – what I called a “roadmap.” With this story, I’m diving deeper into the outline again, crafting each chapter with mini scenes first. I’m still in the stage of completing the outline, so the story is in its infancy stages.
AMONG THE HUSHWOOD LEAVES newsletter will give you an inside peek into the process, the characters, upcoming events and more! You can see the first edition here. You can watch the trailer of the book here. And you can sign up to receive the monthly newsletter here.
I look forward to watching this story come to life with you!
